Called Tidel spoke to Mimi and she said it was a sensor issue at the transition gate above cassette 3. I preformed a PM on the unit. Powered it back up and got the error SNV03 banknote stuck. Called tidel back and talked to Chris. He said, pull the BV and open it up and clean the BV. I did that powered unit back up and got the same error SNV03. Called Tidel back and spoke to Jefferson, he has put in for a new BV to be shipped to location.; [0002 9/8/2026 5:11:36 PM]-Replaced escrow and still couldn't clear error. Power reset, still have error. Called sesami talked to Dominic did some troubleshooting and sent pics of gears. Error won't clear called sesami talked to Seth did some troubleshooting and multiple pics. Sending more parts. Be sure to put all parts sent but BV and try to clear error. Still get the same error code. Called sesemi talked to Morgan, was transfer to tier 3 waited 15 min. Then they said 3 would call back 30 min ago. Worked with tier 3 Darcey going through connections and cabling. Found some cable being cut in safe. Sending 2 cables out, to be here by 9 pm. Sesami stresses it is a 2 man job to pull cassette rack. Input shutter wasn't closing, cleaned it and it started working again. There wasn't much dust, but still cleaned it up. Found a belt missing going from the note router to transition gate 1. Front motor and middle motor gears were fine, rear motor gears were worn. Cassette rack was dusty so I cleaned it out. Notes were ascew in 4b and 5b. Called tidel about the belt and spoke to Jefferson. Sent him pictures. He remoted in and reset the unit. After reset the input shutter doesnt want to shut again. He had me try to realign it, but it still didn't want to close. After some back and forth he is sending a gear kit, input shutter, and a diverter gate so we can steal the belt that we need. [0001 9/9/2026 3:39:47 PM]-Replaced cassette 1, position 1 pickwheel and cassette rack PCB. Contacted Sesami to authorize cassette rack PCB and restarted unit. Unit began to show issues with cassette 4 plate tension. Inspected unit, reseated connections and cleaned out cassette 4 before reinstalling but error would not clear. Contacted Sesami and performed troubleshooting with T3 Darcy. Found that cassette 4 pressure plate began to drop to the bottom of cassette and cash was loose. Logs pulled from unit showed signs of cassette failing before visit. T3 ordered new cassette 4 and bdm motor. Leaving all replaced parts onsite in case of need to swap. ;

After completing the replacements, attempted to open the vault door, but the door would not open. The next step is to replace the cable to the control PCB and the encrypted lock body. However, in order to access and replace these components, the vault door will need to be drilled. Contacted Sesami and spoke with Temicka to have the documents regarding TR400 recycler pedicures. Measured and marked the cross point on the vault door and began drilling a pilot hole using a smaller drill bit in preparation for breaking the lock. Successfully drilled through the vault door wall; however, the drill bit broke during the process. Attempted to switch the broken drill bit; however, the drill bit holder adapter became locked and I was unable to remove the smaller bit. I tried several different tools and methods to release the bit, but was unsuccessful. I went to a nearby mechanic shop for assistance. The mechanic was able to release the drill bit from the adapter but confirmed that the adapter was damaged and was no longer usable. Went to Home Depot to locate a replacement and confirmed that the required SDS-shank bit holder adapter was not available in the store. Went to Ace HW store and the employee advised the adapter would need to be purchased only online. A return appointment is required to complete the vault door drilling and lock removal. Will return with the correct adapter and appropriate tools to complete the repair. Left the parts cable to the control PCB and the encrypted lock body inside the recycler cabinet. Multiple drill bits were attempted, including both titanium and cobalt bits in different sizes, starting with smaller bits in an attempt to create a pilot hole. Despite multiple attempts and depending several hours, I was unable to penetrate the lock or create a pilot hole. After reviewing the issue, Paul confirmed that the coin hopper was available because it was for a different denomination. This site is experiencing an issue with the penny hopper, while the previously referenced site had an issue with the dime hopper, and Tidel currently has no dime hoppers in inventory. I asked Paul whether traveling to the site would be a waste of time since the replacement hopper was not scheduled to arrive until tomorrow. We agreed that, because the $20 bill cassette was still not functioning, it would be beneficial to proceed to the site, verify the existing issue, and determine whether any additional parts would be required. Upon arrival, I spoke with the site manager and confirmed that the current issue with the $20 cassette was the same issue previously experienced, where the cassette would not properly transfer currency. All other denominations are currently transferring bills from their respective cassettes into the deposit cassette as expected; however, the $20 denomination remains unable to transfer. I contacted Tidel again and was connected with Paul. We reviewed the service history and notes from both myself and other technicians who had previously worked on this specific cassette issue. During previous troubleshooting, I replaced multiple components, including transports, note routers, transition gates, cassettes, and motors, without resolving the problem. Another technician also replaced additional components, which likewise did not correct the issue. The problem was ultimately resolved temporarily through engineering intervention, but the underlying cause was never definitively identified. Paul and I discussed the possibility that engineering had previously implemented a firmware patch that temporarily corrected the issue. We suspect the machine may have subsequently received a remote firmware update that did not contain the same patch because the correction may have been incorporated into an earlier/lower firmware version and was not carried forward into the newer firmware.
